Do you think it is easier to be creative when you have limits to work within or when you have don’t?

As Shane Snow argues in his book “Smartcuts,” it is actually easier to create within limitations.  Consider, Shane writes, the following two requests:

“Say something funny.”

“Tell a knock-knock joke.”

Isn’t the 2nd one an easier request to fulfill?

Similarly, Shane says, the Haiku is an excellent poetic form because it strictly limits the number of syllables you can have in each of its 3 lines.

At Reputation Elevation, we use Haiku Deck to make Powerpoint presentations for sales purposes.  Why? Because like its poetic namesake, Haiku Deck limits how much text you can write, what formats you can write them in, and what you can do with pictures and graphs.

So instead of spending forever playing with the endless possibilities of a slide show, you can get down to business, make an elegant slideshow, and get back to your real work.

Haiku Deck is free and you can check it out here: www.haikudeck.com
